Accent Nails!

Hello everyone! So yesterday, I decided to do something I've never done before, and that is to wear nail polish strips. I decided to use them only on my ring finger as an accent an I really like how it came out! At first I did my nails a light, peachy, orange color but then changed my mind and painted them purple! Has that ever happened to you? LOL The purple nail polish I used is from Revlon and it is called "Not So Blueberry." It is a very unique color, specially because when it dries it's scented! This particular shade smells like blueberries (hence the name!) when it dries! Hope you guys like it! :)

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blushes

Hello everyone! Today I want to do a small review on these blushes I purchased a couple of months ago. These blushes retail for $ 25 USD and range in 8 beautiful different colors. They are very smooth and extremely pigmented. These blushes are nice because they are very blendable. As far as the durability of these goes, I have to say they live up to the hype. While I dont think they last a full 12 hours, they do last more than any other blush I own. The pan where the blush is located is stuck to the compact with a magnet. Perfect for those who like to travel and wish to place their products in a separate palette; no messy depoting! These products are also animal cruelty free! Which is great! So while they are a bit pricey, they are definitely worth it!

Winter Wonderland Nails!

"Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!" ♫ says on of my favorite Christmas songs. And thus, I decided to do a manicure inspired by winter and snow! I'm not the best at hand-drawing on my nails but I think I came up with something super simple and super easy to recreate. If you really don't want to draw the snowflakes, you can always just do without them or go the Konad route. Even then, I encourage you to try it! I was a bit hesitant at first, and although mine aren't perfect, I am pretty pleased with the results. It definitely gets better the more you do it! Hope you try it!

Festive Glitter!

Today's post is another manicure. This one is extremely simple. Basically, I applied two coats of black polish (China Glaze's "Black Leather") and applied one coat of glitter on top. But this polish in specific I love! & that is Wet n Wild's "Party of Five Glitters." I love how not only are the glitters different colors but theyre different colors too! Love!

theBalm's "Nude'tude"!

Today I want to introduce to you all something that I've been pretty excited about. And that is, the "Nude'tude" eyeshadow palette by theBalm. I recently picked this up when they were having a sale and I have to say, I love it!

I love the obvious gradient of light to dark eye shadows.

The palette itself is nice and sleek.

The back contains general pictures of the shadows,
the ingredients, as well as the company's information .

Palette contains a great-sized mirror, 12 eye shadows,
& a shadow/liner brush.

The colors range from light to dark with a combination of
matte and shimmer as well as as a couple glittery.

I love the fact that this palette contains too very light shades, a white and a yellow-gold. Perfect for any looks! Also, I love the fact that this palette contains a matte black and a matte dark brown. Black for a more dramatic or evening/night look and brown for a more toned-down or day look!

The palette also comes with an eyeshadow/liner brush. I have to admit that personally, I never really like the brushes offered in palettes. Although this one is very soft and flexible, the brush itself is pretty small which I think would make applying the shadows a bit hard. Thus, I would still much rather prefer to use another brush I may already have.

Leopard Nails!

Hello everyone!

Today's post is a mani that I have been wearing for a very long time now. Longer than usual! For this manicure I used OPI's "Rising Star" as a base and then added the leopard design with my Knoad plate m57 and black Konad Special Nail Polish. To add a little bit more dimension to the look I added random dots with Kleancolor's "Black Hole" which is not black at all so the name is really awkward! Haha. I hope you like this nail design!

Revlon Hair Dye

About two weeks ago, I dyed my hair black. I originally had dark brown hair and I just wanted a small change that would represent the winter days. The hair dye I used is from Revlon and the color is 10 Black as shown in the picture below:

The box included everything necessary to complete the hair dye process like instructions, gloves, dye, etc. and it even included a hair conditioner for color treated hair.

Here's a shot I took prior to dying my hair:

Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of what it looked like right after dying it. But here's a picture of what it looked like a few days later after being styled and all:

One downside we came across right away, was that the gloves provided weren't very sturdy!
After handling the hair for a while, the gloves ripped apart without us (my mom and I) noticing and made a huge mess (stain) on her hands!

I would highly encourage buying other gloves beforehand.

Another downside I found which, to me, was relatively big, was the fact that the hair dye only lasted about two weeks.
On one hand, this can be very irritating if you're looking for something long-lasting, but on the other hand, this can be a great thing if you're just looking to try a new look and are not looking for serious commitment to the change. now that I know how pleased I was with the color change of my hair i might just get it professionally colored.

Magnetic Polish

MAC Eye Shadows

Hello Everyone!

Not too long ago, I went to the MAC store to pick a few things up.

I ended up buying a few eye shadows.

These are the colors I picked up:

For the most part, I was pretty happy about my purchase. I say "for the most part" because the blue eye shadow (Atlantic Blue) did disappoint me. It was not as pigmented as the other shadows, which of course it's due to the fact that it has a matte finish. And for most cases, matte finishes tend to lack a little pigmentation. Needless to say, I'm pretty sure it'll look amazing over a white base!

Sexy Glitter

Hello loves!

Today's post is going to be another mani. For this mani I used my Konad Nail Stamping System. Basically, this mani consists of a pink glitter polish with a fishnet-type design on top.

First I applied one coat of Wet n Wild's "Sparked."

I wanted something more opaque so I added a second coat:

Even then, that was still not at the intensity I wanted, so I added another coat:

And that was exactly how I wanted it. I then added the design with a black polish using my Konad Nail stamping Set and sealed it with a coat of Seche Vite clear polish.

Beautylish's Event: The Beauty Social

Hello everyone! (once again!)

Look at me! Two blog posts in one night! :D LOL Well, this blog post is more of an informative post. Lancome's Color Design Shadow Palette!

Hello everyone!

Not too long ago, I got a Lancome eyeshadow palette and I thought it'd be nice to show you guys some pictures and tell you a little bit about it.

This palette is called: Bronze Amour.

This palette is from their Color Design Collection, retails for $48, and it came in a box like this:

The product packaging and the back of the actual product claim this product to be an "Eye Brightening

All-In-One 5 Shadow & Liner Palette." While this palette contains beautiful shades, I would not recommend using them all together in one look since they are very shimmery. Instead, I would recommend using these products as eye brighteners and to accent any look you decide to wear. One thing I do like is the liner. While it is a tiny-tad bit powdery (not to the point where it makes it dis-functional or annoying), it's amazingly pigmented and contains tiny, beautiful sparkles, which I believe would look great as a liner.

This brush is soft and perfect for sweeping away any fallout from using eyeshadows on the eyes. It is also good for applying a thin layer of powder onto the face.

This soft brush is flat, and wide making it easy to apply any powders in wide sections. It gives a really nice and natural finish. It works well when applying bronzer and blush.

These blushes range in a wide variety of colors and are very nicely packaged. They have a sheer to medium pigmentation (with exception to one --listed below) quality which is great because it leaves the user with great product control on their hands.

e.l.f Lipsticks

These lipsticks are nice and soft, but not too soft. They have good pigmentation quality and are very affordable (just like the rest of e.l.f.'s products!). They are a bit sheer but I found that layering them twice is all you need. These lipsticks smell amazing!

These glosses range in beautiful colors. The application is extremely easy and perfect for on-the-go! The consistency of these glosses is very thick and so a thin layer works best. Since a thin layer is recommended, the color pay-off is sheer. These glosses smell amazing!

"elf Professional Eyeshadow Brush"

This brush is very soft and very similar to Sigma's eyeshadow shader brush in that they have the same shape. The only difference is that this brush by e.l.f. is a bit more full than Sigma's.

"elf Professional Brow Comb & Brush"

This brush has been very helpful in combing through my lashes in order to separate them. It has also been very helpful in combing and grooming my eyebrows.

"elf Professional Eyeliner Brush"

Lastly, this brush, I purchased to help my nail design clean-up process become easier. I dip it into nail polish remover and wipe any smudges around my nail off. Great tool!

"elf Shimmer Eyeliner Pencils"

These pencils are very soft and highly-pigmented!

This pencil is nice and soft and highly-pigmented. Includes a sharpener.

"elf Liquid Liners"

These liquid liners are very different from each other. From the formula, to the applicator, to the pigmentation. Nonetheless, they're all really good!

"Stardust" is a sheer wash of glitter that adds a bit of sparkle to the eye. The applicator has sturdy bristles that apply the product evenly.

"Copper" is a densely glitter-packed eyeliner that covers very nicely. Unlike "Stardust," it has hard sponge-like applicator that helps the formula go on more vividly.

"Plum" is more of a typical liquid liner. It has a soft sponge-like applicator and applies very richly. Layer for more opaque results, but let dry after layers.

Hello everyone!

This week's mani blog post (thus it seems like it's becoming a weekly thing --should I make it a weekly thing?) is something super cute that I got TONS of compliments on. It seems like every time I do a nail design like this, people seem to notice more! I had actually done this manicure in a rush, just to have something on my nails. I got so many compliments on it, that I decided, it deserved a blog post.

Super easy and simple to do! I got inspiration to do this from a picture I saw in my Migi Nail Art Pen Instruction Guide. This week, on my nails, I gave water marbling a shot. I had never tried this technique so it was definitely fun. I might even do a video on it! I will post pictures soon.

Little Monster Mani

Today's post is going to be another mani. This one I did last week and I got a lot of complements on. The first thing I did was paint my nails with a different solid color.

So, while in Illinois, I had the opportunity to visit a local Walgreens. I was able to look around and purchase several things (a lot of things actually!). As I was looking around the Beauty aisle, I came across the Wet n Wild eight eyeshadow palettes. I decided to get only one to try out but since I couldn't decide, I bought two instead. I purchased the "Comfort Zone" Palette which had more natural eyeshadow colors like browns and greens and the "Blue Had Me At Hello" Palette which had more intense colors like blacks and blues.

Not too long ago, I received a nail polish in the mail from Cosmopolitan. It is a bright neon pink nail polish with cute girl silhouettes adorning the nail polish container. Bright colors, especially neons, are not something I typically go for on my nails but I decided to try it out.
I applied the color all over my nails and then applied OPI's Turquoise Shatter on top to tone it down without making it lose its intensity.

While on my vacation across the states, I went sightseeing, and of course, shopping! Throughout the entire course of my trip I ended up buying a few Hello Kitty things that I decided to put it all together into a collective post.

So while in New York a few days ago, I went to INGLOT. I pretty much just looked around and although, initially, I wasn't gonna buy anything, I ended up picking up a couple of things.

INGLOT's 10-Square Eyeshadow Palette

Here are some swatches of the eyeshadows I picked out for this palette.

Another thing I picked up was one of their gel liners. I got the white one to use as a base under any eyeshadows. Specially for the ones that need a bit of help as far as color payoff.

This product is soo creamy and soft!


Sawtched over no base.

The color payoff of this eyeliner is amazing and extremely durable! (I had to rub it off several times before it disappeared completely!)

Overall, I'm extremely impressed with INGLOT. Would I buy from them again? Absolutely!

Neon Safari

Hello everyone, I am currently in Illinois (far from home in California), I just came back from New York where I stayed for a couple of days. It was really amazing having the opportunity to visit such a well known city. I had always wanted to go and I am very satisfied.

Today's post is another mani. A few weeks ago, before I left California, I received some Konad polishes in the mail. I already owned some plates, so I was pretty excited to try them out.

I applied China Glaze's Turned Up Turquoise on my nails & China Glaze's Purple Panic on my ring finger. Then, with the Black Konad Special Polish I made a cheetah print design on all my nails except the ring finger where I made a zebra design. To add a bit more of dimension to the Cheetah print design, I added a bit of silver polish on the inside of some of the holes in the design (for that I used LA Colors' Silver nail polish).

While in New York, I went to INGLOT and purchased another 10-square eyeshadow pallete.

Before going to IMATS, I reviewed the list of companies that would be there. I realized that Urban Decay would not be there and I was really looking forward to purchasing my Naked Palette, so I quickly turned to Sephora.com.

Nail Decor!

Hello Everyone! Wow! It seems like it's been forever since I last wrote in here. Hmm.. I forgot how good it feels.
Anyways, so it's been one busy summer lately and I haven't been able to start making new videos and posting new blogs lately. But I have some things saved and some new fresh ideas so hopefully I can get them up and running.
In the mean time, I will show you a few things I was sent from Born Pretty.

I received a nail art rhinestones wheel

They are beautiful round rhinestones that come in 12 different colors!

I also received a Hello Kitty nail art plate.

So I took a look at both and I decided to incorporate them in a mani :)

I painted my nails with OPI's Rising Star and used

a nail art polish to make a black french tip.

Then I incorporated the Hello Kitty and a black rhinestone into my creation.

Skincare Talk

Just a quick update on my most recent video. Hope you guys like it. Thanks for watching :)

A couple of things I forgot to mention:

-The worst thing you can do to your skin is to sleep with your makeup on. Your skin repairs itself when you sleep and going to sleep with your makeup on clogs your pores and traps the dirt from all day.
Tip: Keep some makeup removing wipes by your bedside just in case you can't seem to have the energy to go wash your face. while this is not going to remove every impurity in your face it will definitely be better than nothing.

-Do not over exfoliate. While in the summer you can get away with exfoliating a few times a week, in the winter it is recommended you keep it to a minimum of once or twice a week depending on if you have oily or dry skin.

-Sleep! Turn off your cellphone, television, computer and iPod. Do whatever it takes for you to get enough sleep. Like I said before, your skin repairs itself through the night while you sleep so it is very important to keep good sleeping habits.

-Wear sunscreen. Even in the winter. This will prevent you from gaining any brown spots, wrinkles and even skin cancer!

-Stop picking at your face. Do not pop your zits, and instead use a treatment that contains benzyl peroxide or salicylic acid. This is one of my New Year's Resolution. Make it yours too!

-Do not over moisturize. This can actually make you break out. So chose wisely and use carefully.

Hello Kitty Earrings!

Yesterday I went to the mall with some friends and my boyfriend. We were hanging out and looking around; we decided to go in to Claire's to look around and it was there that I found some inexpensive and super cute Hello Kitty earrings! I had been looking for some earrings like this before but never found some I actually liked and since they were $3.50, I bought them.

They came in a package like this:

I love it how they have a little small rhinestones on the bow :) Can't wait to wear them!

Holiday Inspired Nails

Yesterday I was playing with some acrylic paint and next thing you know it I'm doing my nails! So I decided I'd take some pictures to show you. Excuse the smudges and imperfections, like I said above I was just playing around. Nothing too serious. So this is what I came up with.

The candy cane nail I got inspiration from Brooke or sayanythingbr00ke on YouTube.

The snowflake nail , the nail with the present and the one with a mistletoe (last three nails) I came up with myself. :)

If you do decide to use acrylic paint for your nails. Don't forget to put a top coat.

My Sigma Brushes Are Here!

As I was leaving my house yesterday afternoon, my mom came into my house with the mail. She looked at me and pulled out a package from the stack of letters and advertisements, and I went crazy with excitement. "My Sigma brushes are here!" I yelled. I quickly went to my room and opened the package.

I am a sucker for detail, so i loved the way the products were wrapped.

I ordered an extra Duo Fibre brush and was also sent an extra travel-size blending brush that comes with the Complete Kit as a gift from Sigma, which came in a small package along with some brochures.

One thing I can tell you off the bat is that this kit seems to have all the brushes necessary for the common makeup person. It includes every brush one could possibly use on a daily basis.

A Hair Tutorial

Yesterday I uploaded a new video on You Tube, and it is called "How To: Tease Hair." Back when I was in high school I used to tease my hair very often and I would always get comments and questions about it, so I decided to do a tutorial on it. Hope it helps! Enjoy :)

For this tutorial I used:

A comb- Try using different types of combs to see which ones you like best and work better on your type of hair.

Hairspray- You can use ANY type of hairspray. This one just happen to be the one I had at hand. It is the TRESemme Extra Firm Control.

If any of you saw my intro video to my youtube channel, then you know I go to school. I am currently a freshman at a University of California. Our first quarter just ended and since it was my first time in college (and not just any college but a university!) So.. I had planned to upload another video on YouTube today. I recorded and edited it but unfortunately, when my editing program converted it into a video it made the quality really bad! I tried fixing it but I just can't seem to make it any better. :/
But, since tomorrow is my last day of school before I go on to winter break, (math final tomorrow! Wish me luck!) I will try to post two videos next week.
